ChatGPT Image Prompts for Campaign Art Direction
Use ChatGPT image prompts as an art-direction brief: specify the image's purpose, subject, composition and constraints. The original example here is a starting brief, not a claim that a particular model output has been tested.

How to use this guide
Separate the artwork from essential copy
For a campaign, decide which words must be exact. You can ask for image text, but verify every character and product detail before publishing. For critical offer terms, generate the art with reserved copy space and place approved typography in a design tool afterward.
Describe a composition, not a pile of adjectives
Name where the subject sits, the viewpoint, the lighting and the area that must remain clear. A square social tile and a wide hero need different crops. State the intended format without assuming the output will have exact export dimensions.
Edit a single variable and compare
Keep a saved starting image and ask for one change, such as moving the object lower or softening the background. Check that the edit preserved the subject and details you wanted to keep. Use only reference assets you are entitled to upload, and avoid copying a campaign's logo or distinctive artwork.
Original prompt to adapt
An editorial starting brief, not a benchmarked model output. Replace fictional content and review the result before publishing.
Create campaign artwork for a fictional ceramic studio's autumn collection. Show one handmade cream-colored ceramic cup on a warm neutral surface, positioned in the lower-right half of a square composition. Use soft window light from the left, a gentle grounded shadow and a restrained clay-and-cream palette. Keep the upper-left third quiet and empty for typography that I will add later. Show a believable handle and rim with no extra objects, logos, lettering or watermark. The mood should be calm and tactile, with visible subtle glaze texture. This is original artwork, not a recreation of another brand's campaign.
A focused follow-up
Keep the cup, camera angle and lighting unchanged. Reduce the background texture and move the cup slightly lower so the upper-left area is clear for a two-line headline. Do not add text.
Review checklist
- Product geometry and shadows are plausible at full size.
- The copy area survives the intended crop.
- No unintended lettering, logo or misleading product detail remains.
